Visumchecklista för grupper
A group visa problem is a weakest-link problem: one member stuck at the border can derail the whole plan. Check every member — early.
Mapping the needs
- Build a table for every member: name, citizenship, passport number and expiry.
- Different passports mean different rules — check each one separately, not by majority.
- Check transit visas for layover points — some countries require one even for connections.
Permit types
- eVisas and ETAs are done online — save the approval PDF in the trip's documents tab.
- Consulate visas need appointments and a document file — start at least two months ahead.
- Visa on arrival — bring the right cash currency and passport photos for everyone.
Validity and entries
- Passports valid 6 months past the return date, plus at least two blank pages.
- A side trip to a neighboring country? That needs a multi-entry visa, not a single-entry one.
- Some countries demand proof of onward travel or a hotel booking — carry printed copies.
Border day
- Give each member a document pack: passport, visa, insurance proof and the first-night address.
- Nominate one spokesperson at the border and keep the whole group together in line.
- Photograph the entry stamp — some countries ask for it at check-out.
- A visa approved for only part of the group? Tell everyone immediately — nothing is worse than a last-minute surprise.
Tip: build a shared 'country file' — visa requirements per citizenship in your group, official application links and deadlines — so nobody is left behind at the border crossing.
