Group travel insurance
Insurance is the easiest cost to postpone and the most expensive to discover missing. For a group, one uniform policy is cheaper and simpler to manage.
Must-have cover
- Overseas medical costs, including hospitalisation and medical repatriation.
- Trip cancellation or curtailment — check which reasons are actually accepted.
- Third-party liability, especially on trips with a rental vehicle.
Common add-ons
- Adventure sports: diving, skiing, climbing and riding need an explicit extension.
- Expensive gear: cameras, laptops and sports equipment have low default limits.
- Pre-existing conditions must be declared upfront or cover is void.
Managing it as a group
- Collect everyone's policy numbers in the documents tab.
- Share the insurer's emergency number before departure.
- Check age limits and special terms for older participants.
Tip: don't rely on credit-card insurance as your only policy — cover is usually partial and time-limited.
